News America Marketing Announces Key Leadership Appointments

The Company Names its First Chief Revenue Officer and a New General Manager of Checkout 51

New York (July 27, 2017)News America Marketing (NAM), the premier marketer and influencer for online and offline shoppers in the U.S. and Canada, today announced two senior leadership appointments as it continues its evolution as a company that is shopper-centric and wired for growth. The appointments include the naming of its first Chief Revenue Officer and a new General Manager for Checkout 51, America’s fastest-growing grocery savings app.

Robert Spitz, previously News America Marketing’s Executive Vice President, National Sales Manager, has been promoted to the position of Chief Revenue Officer. Prior to this appointment, Mr. Spitz had been responsible for clients based across North America. In his new position, Mr. Spitz will now oversee the entire sales force including the Shopper Marketing teams located in the U.S. and Canada. He will continue to be based in the company’s New York headquarters.

Mr. Spitz joined News America Marketing in 1994 after graduating from the University of Wisconsin-Madison with a degree in Marketing and Logistics.  He started as an Account Coordinator and held a variety of sales and managerial positions in the Chicago, Wilton, Minneapolis, and New York offices. He lives in Connecticut with his wife, Alyssa, and their three children.

Tim Ryan joins News America Marketing as General Manager for Checkout 51. An experienced entrepreneur and operator, Mr. Ryan brings valuable experience in scaling technology-based startups, including Vestiigo.comNextdoor.com, and most recently as head of International for Tilt.com.  He will be focused on continuing to scale the Checkout 51 platform for News America Marketing, reporting to Noah Godfrey, located in the Toronto office. This will enable Noah Godfrey, Pema Hegan, and Andrew McGrath, the original founders of Checkout 51, to continue their leadership on the broader growth agenda for News America Marketing.

Also, News America Marketing confirmed the promotion of Ryan DeVoe to Executive Vice President, Sales, leading the East Division. Mr. DeVoe was previously Senior Vice President, Regional Sales Manager.  With a career spanning more than 21 years at the company, Mr. DeVoe helped advance many strategic client relationships and nurtured many of the company’s top Sales talent. He will report to Robert Spitz, based out of the company’s New York office.
