The Marketing Department provides materials, information, strategic direction and consultative expertise to support company initiatives, focusing particularly on sales efforts. There are three departments within Marketing: Marketing Research, Marketing & Creative Services and Strategic Sales and Marketing Development.
Marketing Research: Provides data to help keep Sales updated on the industry, their clients as well as helping Sales prospect new clients. There are two groups within the Marketing Research department:
- Planning: Handles all requests to assist in the selling and planning of free-standing insert and in-store programs.
- Business Information: Provides the resources for industry updates and trends as well as helping Sales prospect new clients.
Market Research is located in Wilton, CT.
Marketing & Creative Services: Acts as an in-house ad agency providing copywriting and design resources to all News America Marketing® departments. Marketing & Creative Services creates sales materials to help support the sales effort. They also work with internal departments to create materials for special projects. The department is broken up into two areas:
Marketing Services: Functions as copywriters, proofreaders and project managers. The group develops client-specific presentations, writes content for all sales collateral and manages the content of the www.newsamerica.com website. Marketing Services works with sales-support teams, including Human Resources, Corporate Communications and Finance, to create materials that support employee-directed initiatives including recruitment, training and benefits education.
- Creative Services: Provides graphic and design support to the organization. They are responsible for working with Sales to create mockups of client creative used to help sell in-store campaigns. Creative Services also designs and produces corporate and client-specific sales materials, as well as printed collateral such as the media kit. They are also responsible for art-directing photo shoots, maintaining image databases and working with sales-support teams in presenting the company image internally.
The department is located in the New York office.
Strategic Sales and Marketing Development: Works closely with the sales teams to develop account and client-specific programs. They provide support and ideas, including using existing data to design ROI models. They also develop content, for client-specific presentations and meetings. They manage the existing portfolio by collaborating with internal departments to develop product enhancements, field questions from Sales regarding the installation and production of In-Store programs, and develop and launch new products and product extensions.
The department is located in the Wilton, CT office.
