Joseph Randazzo to Run News Marketing Canada’s
Retail Trade Business

 

Appointment Reflects Growing Focus on Canadian Marketplace

 

New York, NY (March 22, 2007) – News America Marketing, a division of News Corporation (NYSE: NWS), today announced that Joseph Randazzo has been promoted to Vice President, Region Manager, Trade for the company’s Canadian territory. News America Marketing’s Canadian businesses operate under the name News Marketing Canada. In his new position, Mr. Randazzo will oversee the entire Canadian Retail Trade operation from the company’s Toronto headquarters.  Previously he had been Vice President, Group Sales Manager. 

 

Mr. Randazzo will report to Marty Garofalo, EVP, Trade, who is based in New York.  Mr. Randazzo’s primary responsibility will be to bring supermarkets, drugstores and mass merchandisers into News Marketing Canada’s retailer network. He will also work to establish new classes of trade and bring News America Marketing’s Price Feature Plus program, already popular in the United States, and other Co-Marketing sales opportunities to the Canadian market. His clients will include Shoppers Drug Mart, A&P, Safeway and Wal-Mart.

Mr. Randazzo started his career at News Marketing Canada in 2001 as an Account Director, with subsequent promotions to sales positions of increasing responsibility. Most recently, he was Vice President, Group Sales Manager, overseeing accounts including Nestlé Canada, Kellogg’s, Maple Leaf Consumer Foods, and Novartis. Mr. Randazzo graduated form the University of Toronto with a Four-Year Honors degree specializing in Political Science and Italian Studies with a minor in French. Prior to joining News Marketing Canada, he spent 10 years working in the consumer packaged goods industry for companies including General Mills, Culinar Canada and Trophy Foods.

 

Mr. Randazzo lives in Mississauga with his wife, Melissa, and their children Joseph and Isabella.
