Day in the Life

What can you expect when you get here? We work in a challenging, fast-paced environment, and that’s the way we like it. Account Coordinators immediately have the opportunity to work closely with top clients and senior executives, while interacting with many of the Company's other support divisions.

With News America Marketing, one thing is certain--everyday is different! Here is a sample of what your day might look like as an Account Coordinator.

8:45am

You start your day with the weekly Group Sales Manager (GSM) Sales Meeting. During the meeting, your GSM shares topical information regarding the prior week's performance and "new news". To finish the meeting, your GSM guides the team through a training module from the Art of Consulting, a weekly training program designed by our own sales experts to educate every level of the sales organization on the six defined steps of the consultative sales process.

10:10am
Your client calls requesting a regional market list of newspapers in the southeastern United States for a new product launch. Working with the Media Department, you customize a list designed to meet the client's distribution requirements.

11:46am
You call the Layouts Department to review specifications for a client's SmartSource Magazine® ad. This ad will be part of the Super Bowl themed issue that reaches millions of consumers in the weeks prior to Super Bowl Sunday.

12:27pm
Time for lunch! You had planned to eat around noon, but were caught up in a call with a client to discuss an invoice for a recent in-store program. Because of the delay, you and a colleague in the Sales Department head out for a quick lunch at a deli around the corner from the office.

1:30pm
You are scheduled to accompany your Account Director to a client visit the next day. In preparation for your meetings, you create a presentation that demonstrates the benefits of promoting a new product in SmartSource Magazine.

3:41pm
You discuss the details of a client's business contract with the Legal Department. This contract specifies the client's agreement to place its free-standing insert (FSI) advertising exclusively through News America Marketing.

4:00pm
At the Regional Sales Meeting, you learn of the Company’s weekly performance from a Senior Vice President/Regional Sales Manager.
